Co-founded in 2016 by established entrepreneur Jean-François Gagné and leading AI researcher Yoshua Bengio in the deep learning hub of Montreal, we’re pioneering an AI-First world by turning the world’s most important AI research into transformative business applications.

Jean-Francois is a veteran AI entrepreneur and former Chief Product Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at JDA Software, where he was the youngest global C-Level Executive of a top-20 Enterprise Software company. He has founded and successfully exited two companies in AI and Operations Research, represented Canada as a Technology Investment Champion Speaker for Global Affairs, and is a sought-after expert for educating top-level management about the impact of AI on industry.

Widely considered as one of the three pioneers of deep learning, as well as the most impactful recent advances in machine learning, Dr. Bengio is a world-renowned researcher with more than 300 publications and over 65,000 citations to his name. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Statistical Learning Algorithms and an NSERC Industrial Chair. He is a Senior Fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and co-directs its program focused on deep learning. He has been program chair and general chair of NIPS, the leading academic machine learning conference, and co-created ICLR, the leading deep learning conference.
